iMishna
Update:
After several months of use, I am thankful for this superb, convenient program. The company was steadily adding to it, filling out missing areas. The available audio files are a portable "shiur", well-explained lesson. Very useful when you are learning and either want "company", have a little trouble focusing, or dont understand the mishnah.
Looking at other peoples concerns, perhaps a reminder of what you get for the money: you cannot get mishnaiyos, English translation, and a portable teacher for the money through any other medium, unless you have a mishmayos suitcase and traveling personal rebbe with you at all times. And for any wishing for more commentary, well sure its a nice thought...but relax, use your orher, bound paper sefarim. Simple market demand supports lots of heavy commentaries for paper only, so far.
And finally, re: incompleteness, I agree. Theres a serious gap: NO translation for any of Seder Nezilim. Ahem. I hope the developers are going to fill that gap soon!! We otherwise may carry a book translation - but thats not what we hope to get when we buy!
But it looks like everything else here has a translation. The translations English is stilted and older. It may even be public domain perhaps, but it is nonetheless very, very useful. Where it is confusing, the audio shiurim come to the rescue.
Overall, its a great program / app. Who would have thought a short time ago ALL of Mishnayos would be in ones pocket?
Developers: Please, I am learning Nezikim, and I hope the translation is added very soon.
First review:
This is a very impressive program. Other mishna apps are all welcome, but this for me is easily the most useful. It is great for me to refer to the integrated English, where it exists. I earnestly await more English. I look forward to further updates as this "mechaiye" of an app continues to develop.
